The Gisborne Wainui Lions Club Beach Dig is back again for 2019!
This iconic event has been running for over 30 years and is the perfect event for family fun!
Gates open at 3pm with digging starting at 4pm on Sunday 19 January 2019 (or Sunday 20 January 2019 if wet). This will take place at Churchill Park on Centennial Marine Drive and prizes are to be won!
- How it works: Hundreds of discs are buried in a designated area of sand at Churchill Park by the Old Jail. Entrants do not pay unless they find a disc. There is no age restriction.
- Prizes: On registering the disc for a small fee the entrant is guaranteed a prize to at least the value of the registration fee.
- Major prizes: Up to twenty are allocated at random amongst the discs found and registered. They can vary in value from $50 to $1,000 or more!
- Event proceeds: Any proceeds from this event, the Gisborne Wainui Lions Club will use to continue various charitable & volunteer organizations.
