Bridge Estate Degustation Dinner

We are kicking off our Labour Weekend programme with our special Degustation dinner at The Works. We will have tables of 10 available, so book a table and get hold of your mates for a great night of wine and food. Tickets are $110 per person and limited to 60 people. The Underground Soiree

A highlight of our cellar door is to explore the underground cellar which is home to many older vintage Matawhero Wines as well as other iconic New Zealand wine producers. Enjoy an exclusive luncheon amongst this history. Tickets include canapés to start, main, cheeseboard and dessert prepared by head chef Thomas Boyce from the iconic USSCo Bar and Bistro. All these courses are carefully matched to our award-winning Matawhero Wines including our new flagship Irwin Chardonnay from the 2016 vintage.

Chardonnay Amongst The Vines

Experience five Matawhero Chardonnays as we take you on our Gisborne Chardonnay journey alfresco amongst the vines and olives at our rustic cellar door. Tickets are $25 per person and include a cheeseboard and tasting of our Chardonnays in our unique tasting rack including our new flagship IRWIN Chardonnay.

Stonebridge at Bridge Estate Cellar Door

Bridge Estate are sharing their Cellar Door with Dave and Mairead Hart of Stone Bridge Wines, to hold our own little mini-Wine and Food Festival. Food both days will be provided by Gabriele and Mari with the Pizza Caravan.

Music will be provided by Wainui Beach's King of Style, Johnny Turner.

Our Labour Weekend hours will be 11am until 6pm. Admission FREE, but if you are planning on arriving with a larger group, do give us  heads up!

Pop Up Cellar Door at the Gisborne Yacht Club

Family Friendly Cellar Door at the Beach. A shared venue of local award winning wineries and Harvest Cidery. Wines from Cognoscenti, Garagiste, Hihi, and 747 Estate. Chardonnay Express

Classic barrel fermented Gisborne Chardonnay, vintage train journey with gourmet food - all wrapped into a beautifully presented event right here in Tairawhiti-Gisborne.

The Chardonnay Express is set to steam off on its maiden voyage this Labour weekend. Passengers will be treated on the iconic WA165 Steam Train to a selection of Gisborne classic barrel fermented Chardonnays, matched with hand selected locally sourced food. You will be entertained throughout the excursion with music, informative discussion around wine and the region.

First Light Wine and Food

Join us at Labour Weekend with the First Light Wine and Food on Sunday 22nd October 2017. Travel around our beautiful wine region on complimentary buses taking in two of Gisborne’s iconic wineries, Matawhero at Riverpoint Road and TW Wines at the famous Golden Slopes.

The afternoon runs from 12noon to 6pm with both venues focusing on local cuisine and music all afternoon. The bus service will depart from the Gisborne i-SITE on Grey Street between 11.30am and 1pm. Buses will continue between the venues constantly throughout the day and return to the Gisborne i-SITE from 5pm on-wards.

Tickets are $40 + booking fee and include all bus transfers, entry to both vineyard sites and a complimentary First Light event glass. Restricted numbers of tickets are available for this premier event so don’t miss out. Tickets available from the Gisborne i-SITE Visitor Information Centre or
