The collection was planted by Douglas Cook beginning in 1910 and is regarded as the largest and most comprehensive collection of Northern Hemisphere trees south of the equator.

Exploring Eastwoodhill on foot is the very best way to enjoy all we have to offer. Our walks cater for all levels of fitness and ability, from flat tree lined paths to a steep climb which rewards visitors with glorious views of the arboretum and the surrounding countryside.
