TUIA 250 - Coming together in Tairāwhiti

Tuia 250 ki Tūranga takes you back to where it all began, to the very beginnings of our nation known as Aotearoa New Zealand.

It marks the 250th anniversary of the first formal meetings of Māori and European here in Tūranganui-a-Kiwa - a unique and significant region for New Zealand history and culture.

It is in Tairāwhiti, that you can return to our nation’s origins, a turning point in history that forever shaped our dual heritage for a shared future.

Once again, it is time to come together in Tairāwhiti, let us walk backwards into the future. Ka mua, ka muri.
