Tirohanga Motor Camp is 6km from Ōpōtiki on Pacific Coast Highway. There is no smog or motorways. Friendly people. Direct access to a safe sandy beach. A kid-friendly camp with plenty of shade available. 60 powered sites and 9 cabins. Find out more about what makes Tirohanga Motor Camp different to other parks. Amongst other things you will not be crammed in and enjoy massive 6-hectare grounds and a sandy beachfront outlook. Lots of trees around the camp provide shady areas for a variety of accommodation options.
Tirohanga Motor Camp provides an ideal base for many other leisure activities in the Opotiki area, including the brand new Motu Trails Cycleway, with the family-friendly Dunes Trail going right in front of our site by the beach. Accommodation options: Camping & Caravan Sites There are both powered and non powered campsites available. With a large park area and acres and acres for the kids to run, play and explore. Tirohanga Beach Motor Camp is also pet friendly all year round. To accommodate pets we have a designated pet area for them with its own beach access.
Bunk Rooms and Tourist Flats are located in one block area and in another there are Cabins.
Cabins are an affordable and comfortable option for Backpackers or couples who are traveling on a budget. Each cabin has a kitchenette with hotplates and a fridge / freezer. There are 3 cabins and each has a slightly different sleeping arrangement. Two of the Cabins sleep up to four people and the other up to five people.
Bunk Rooms are a very affordable non self contained accommodation for travelers who want a roof over their head and are happy to use the camp facilities for cooking and toiletries.
Tourist Flats are tidy and comfortable self contained accommodation here at Tirohanga Motor Camp. They have 2 bedrooms one with a double bed and another with a set of bunks.
