TW Wines is a boutique, family-owned winery and a true Gisborne icon - known for its award-winning drops, legendary local roots, and the kind of laid-back charm that could only be born on a fishing trip. Which is exactly where it started. Back in 2007, longtime mates Geordie Witters and Paul Tietjen dreamed up TW Wines between casts, with a shared vision to bottle the magic of the East Coast - small-batch, full-flavoured, and proudly unpretentious. With the Witters family farming in Gisborne since the early 1900s, there’s more than a little local knowledge running through every vine. The TW range is tight, expressive, and always a crowd-pleaser - from bright aromatics and fruit-forward reds to their latest claim to fame: one of New Zealand’s very first Proseccos. (Yes, bubbles. In Gizzy. You’re welcome.)

TW has earned its place as a staple of the region - not just for its wines, but for its easygoing cellar door, stunning hilltop views, and the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like a local, even if it’s your first visit. Come for the wine, stay for the banter, and leave with a bottle or three of Gisborne sunshine.

Cellar door by appoitment all months of the year. Call Geordie on +64 21 222 0135 to enquire.
